Ajax threatens IE users and websites’ owners
During testing of Ajax technology (and making funny tool checkpageforshit.com), I faced with the necessity of checking HTTP status of a Google webpage. I decided to do it via Ajax, and everything was ok, tool was ready, tested on sites in IE, but damn, it didn’t worked out in Opera and Firefox! After browsing browsers’ java-consoles I understood that it was prohibited in Opera and Firefox to request any pages except those that placed on the same site.
Imagine what can be done via harmless Web 2.0-style requests. Before we saw Myspace and Yahoo Ajax-worms, what will be the next? Ajax-clickers downloading tones of web pages in background and clicking AdSence? Ajax-spyware sending webservices’ account data to hacker’s site? Ajax-spiders taking revenge over hackers’ enemies and spending their traffic on hosts?
